Creating a reminder in Ryver currently takes 3 clicks, vs 1 click for starring a message on Slack. The good thing about Ryver’s reminders is that users can choose if they want to be reminded NOW or in a few minutes, hours days. Currently, on the right of each message there are a REPLY, REACTION and 3PERIODS icons.. I suggest that this is changed to REPLY, REACTION, REMINDER and 3PERIODS icons. This way, setting reminders would change to 2 clicks instead of 3. Makes the system more efficient.
It could save a lot of time if when pasting formatted text (RTF) e.g. something copied from a website, a word document or similar you got the option to automatically convert it to the markdown syntax in use by Ryver. I have noted Ryver supports more formatting than what is documented like tables and those are a pain to create manually but even just supporting some basic markdown conversion could save time or help making pasted text more easily readable.
This is what we by default are setup to do when selecting reply on a chat:
This is what it should be, IMHO. Just used to Replies in Forums being Quote then response.
When typing @ to mention a particular person in the window, the list of users should sort by most recent activity (ideally in the specific forum you're typing in).
This will in most cases make it way quicker to find the person you're attempting to mention, rather than having to write out a lot of their name before you can hit 'enter'.
Given that many people use Ryver and email together in a corporate environment, it would be great if email messages could be forwarded to Ryver users or groups.
For example, if my Ryver site was example.ryver.com and my user was martin, then someone should be able to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and it should appear in my personal chat. Similarly, if there was a group called +idle on the site, someone should be able to send a mail to email@example.com and it should appear in that group.
The post in either the personal chat or group should retain the attachments as well.
Most of the people I introduce to Slack and may in future introduce to Ryver find the Enter = Send default very disconcerting. It's one of the first experiences they have and it's often negative ("But I haven't finished what I was trying to say!")
It makes sense in a quick-fire chat situation, but not when people are posting considered responses that need paragraph breaks (or bullet points). Any chance of making it a user-selectable option whether Enter or Ctrl+Enter sends a message? That simple change would improve the UX greatly for many people.
Use Case: I want to be able to link to a specific message so I can point someone in a private chat or a different forum to that message.
Possible solution: Extend the context menu (...) on a message with a "Share" button which can either:
a) give you a link to the message so you can paste it into another chat or forum
b) provide some dialog to choose a Ryver user with which to share the message
Just a small suggestion. When a poster attaches an image to a chat post, It's probably better if the text appears below the image and not above the image which is currently the default. It's easier to read this way.
